Find Sullivan County Court Dates

Start with the case record, not a fixed calendar. Every Sullivan County court schedule is assembled from hearing events tied to individual cases, so a reliable Sullivan County court date search means pulling the case record, reading the newest hearing entry, and confirming any setting that matters with the clerk or court. Dates shift after a continuance, a cancellation, or a new order. The state calendar tool helps only when a court takes part in it. For a current Sullivan County hearing date, the Chronological Case Summary, or CCS, is the sound first source.

How the Sullivan County Court Calendar Works

Sullivan Circuit Court and Sullivan Superior Court both keep their settings in Indiana's Odyssey system. Much of that event history reaches the public through the MyCase CCS. Think of a CCS as a dated diary for one case. Entries can carry a hearing reason, a judicial officer, and a session. They may also hold a result. A comment and cancellation data can appear too. It is not a full day sheet covering every courtroom.

The court label matters as much as the case type. Sullivan Circuit carries identifier 77C01; Sullivan Superior carries 77D01. Traffic infractions and misdemeanors sit in Superior. That is the local allocation plan. Felony and many civil matters can land in either court. So read the court field on the docket entry. Don't guess from the charge.

Sullivan County Court Calendar Status

The official Trial Court Calendars tool searches schedules. It covers seven days back through four weeks ahead. Participation, though, is voluntary. On August 23, 2026, Sullivan was absent from the live county list. Treat CourtCal as a live Sullivan County court schedule only if that list later changes. The official calendar interface shows how the service works when a court does participate:

The official CourtCal interface supplies a useful view of those controls.

For Sullivan County, that screen answers one question only: whether the court participates. It is not proof of any listed local hearing.

Sullivan County Court Date Lookups

A solid docket search starts with a case number or citation number. A party name works too, but common names return noise. When a date carries a deadline or a duty to appear, check every channel before relying on one.

  1. Open MyCase, choose the Case or Name tab, and set Court to Sullivan County.
  2. Open the matching case summary. Check the court, status, and newest CCS hearing event.
  3. Read the date, time, hearing reason, session, judicial officer, result, and any canceled marker.
  4. Call Tonya Bedwell's Sullivan County Clerk's Office at (812) 268-4657 when the setting is near, unclear, or appears to have moved.
  5. Visit the Clerk in Room 304 at 100 Courthouse Square during posted weekday hours if the web result is missing or an in-person record check is needed.
  6. Ask counsel about the operative order when represented. A filed order controls over a saved screen or old notice.

Sullivan County posts no daily printed calendar. Administrative Rule 9 covers daily calendars generally, but the public route here remains MyCase plus the courthouse counter. The Clerk can also route questions to Circuit Court or Superior Court staff.

Sullivan County Court Schedule Check

CourtCal publishes both a participating-courts page and live data endpoints. Those help separate a statewide tool from a calendar that actually carries Sullivan County settings. The participating-courts screen documents that local participation can vary.

Check that list again before relying on CourtCal for a Sullivan County court date. The official county endpoint serves as the direct participation check.

With no Sullivan option on the list, CCS access leads this route. The county-specific CourtCal court endpoint for county code 77 is another narrow check.

An endpoint response does not replace a filed CCS event or direct court confirmation.

Court Settings: What Each Field Means

A hearing line is compact. Read the fields together, then compare the event against any later order. The newest entry may cancel or replace an older setting without erasing that older event from the CCS.

DateThe scheduled calendar day shown in the hearing event.
TimeThe stated session or start time, subject to a later order.
CourtroomThe location supplied by the court; call if it is absent or unclear.
JudgeThe judicial officer named on the event, which may differ after reassignment.
Setting TypeThe reason, such as pretrial, plea, motion hearing, trial, or sentencing.
ResultThe recorded outcome of a past setting, not a forecast of the case outcome.

MyCase can also show a comment, a session, a document icon, or a cancellation reason. A document icon means an online public document may be available. Its absence does not prove the Sullivan County court file holds no order.

Sullivan County Court Hearing Terms

Local settings use short terms that invite overreading. Each term describes one event or status, not the whole case.

Setting
A date placed on the Sullivan County court schedule for a stated purpose.
Continuance
A request or order that moves a proceeding. A motion alone does not prove the court granted it.
Canceled
A marker for one event. It does not mean the case was dismissed.
Session
The calendar block or court session tied to the hearing.
Disposed
A statistical or case status showing a recorded resolution, not a description of that result.

Note: Check for an order or later CCS event before treating an older hearing line as the current Sullivan County setting.

When a Court Date Moves

Sullivan local rules govern motions to set hearings and motions to continue. The rules call for details such as whether a motion is agreed or opposed. They also want dates when the other side is unavailable. Some settings carry a condition. Proposed dates must meet a stated future-time requirement. The current local-rule text controls, so treat any summary here as orientation, not filing advice.

Remember that a request to continue is only a docket event. The Sullivan County court date moves when the judge enters an order. It also moves when the CCS records the new setting. Refresh the case summary. Look for a cancellation marker paired with a replacement date. Call the Clerk if two entries conflict. A printed portal page can go stale the moment a new order is filed.

Sullivan County Court Schedule Streams

Indiana Court Streams can display open live proceedings when a participating court supplies a stream. The service is live only. It promises no recording or archive. Sullivan publishes no stream schedule. For case information, MyCase remains the place to check.

A CCS may mark a hearing as remote but give no usable link. Contact the Clerk or the named court then. Ask for current access instructions and any needed accommodation. Never assume an old stream address works for the next hearing. The official Court Times calendar announcement explains how public calendars relate to MyCase.

That statewide announcement does not replace checking Sullivan's current participation or each case's own CCS.

Sullivan County Court Schedule Routing

Two trial courts share the Sullivan County Courthouse. Each has its own room and phone line. Circuit Court sits in Room 306, reachable at (812) 268-4411. Superior Court sits in Room 301 at (812) 268-6939. Need a first stop for a docket question? The Clerk in Room 304 holds the record. A quick call beats a wasted trip. It helps when a hearing room or special schedule is unclear.

Why does a date land in one court and not the other? Allocation. Small claims, misdemeanors, and traffic infractions belong to Superior alone. Juvenile, paternity, CHINS, probate, guardianship, adoption, and commitment matters under the local plan stay with Circuit. Felony and civil cases can run in either. To route a Sullivan County court docket entry, read the case number first, then the newest CCS entry.

Missed Settings and What Comes Next

Missed a date? Move fast. Pull the newest CCS entries. Then call the Clerk and reach your lawyer if you have one. Ask pointed questions: did the court log a failure to appear, enter an order, reset the hearing, or schedule a next step on the docket? The Clerk can walk you through what the public record says. What the Clerk cannot do is give legal advice or undo an order.

Missed a setting? A missed appearance can have serious case consequences, and the CCS may change soon after the scheduled time.

Call the Sullivan County Clerk at (812) 268-4657 and speak with counsel before deciding whether or how to appear.

Do not rely on an old calendar printout when a judge's order or newer CCS event says something else.

Traffic cases add one more wrinkle. The Sullivan County traffic court record may list a payment, a failure to appear, or a failure to pay. Whatever the case type, the court's current order governs.
