Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number submitted through a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Sullivan County Court Docket does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact message may be kept long enough to review and answer it. Messages remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical and usage details:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure how visitors move through the site, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic information. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Sullivan County Court Docket does not host, keep, compile, or sell a database of dockets or personal court-case data. It publishes general directions to MyCase, Sullivan Circuit and Superior Courts, and the Sullivan County Clerk. Access to the underlying files is controlled by the Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records, with IC 5-14-3 applying to public-agency records without defeating court confidentiality. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies power the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the provider's privacy policy, not this policy. Each partner determines its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Throughout the site we link to clerk of court pages, trial court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Clicking any of those links takes you off our site. At that point, their privacy policy governs your visit. Read it before sharing any personal details.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system can be guaranteed completely secure, however, and the site cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If information from a minor is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights over personal data can vary with the law that applies to a user and the request. Subject to those limits, a user may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
